Benoit Viellefon & The Hot Club

"Benoit Viellefon returns to hastings with his Hot Club, a mix of virtuoso young musicians and international jazz legends. The repertoire will include many new numbers crafted exclusively for the series of concerts performed in Asia in 2024. Don’t miss it!
THE BENOIT VIELLEFON HOT CLUB:
Benoit Viellefon, French singer and musician, has long been a firm favourite at the most elegant places in the country. The line up and orchestrations are inspired by the hot swinging music that emerged from the infamous Parisian Cafes and nightclubs of the 1930-1940s and some of the greatest American standards.
Since 2009, they have been in huge demand for major cultural events and concert hall performances including: headline slots at Glastonbury’s Jazz Stage, BBC2, BBC Radio3, Hollywood films appearances and soundtracks, National Television, regular appearances at Ronnie Scotts, the Royal Albert Hall, Madonna's private parties, Royal Family private events and a host of European performances.
The Hot Club features both clarinet, tenor saxophone and trumpet alongside the timeless two-guitars and double bass lineup. But they are also often true to the original "Hot Quintet De France" Django Reinhardt Grapelli line up, with the addition of a virtuoso Violin player."

A magnificent, many-headed singing beast, the Spooky Men’s Chorale carves out new territories of mighty sounds, exquisite tenderness, and charming stupidity. Festival favourites in Australia and the UK, they evoke musical worlds far beyond that suggested by their unassuming, casually hatted, black-clad appearance.
